Changelog

What's new in HandleThat.

We ship often. Every entry below was either user-requested or fixed something we noticed during real use.

v1.7.5

June 22, 2026

Lower pricing + founding-user lock-in

  • New prices: Starter $4/mo (was $12), Pro $10/mo (was $35). Same caps, same features — we cut the markup, not the value.
  • Annual billing now available with 10% off either tier.
  • Founding-user pricing: your rate is locked in for 12 months when we eventually raise prices for new signups.
  • Settings now shows usage in tokens (matching what we actually meter on the server), not legacy "AI messages" units.
  • New on the website: FAQ, About, Changelog, "How we're different" section, and a Mac waitlist for non-Windows users.

v1.7.4

May 26, 2026

Auto-recovery from stale sessions

  • Background features (search recall, embeddings) now self-heal when your session token gets out of sync.
  • New session-expired notification when you actually need to sign back in — no more silent failures.
  • Hardened the credential layer across every authenticated call.

v1.7.3

May 22, 2026

Long-task UX polish

  • The streaming bubble now breathes while your chief is thinking, so you always know it's alive.
  • After 5 seconds of silence, a gentle elapsed-time caption appears — no more wondering "is it stuck?"
  • Cancelled responses now persist their partial output instead of disappearing entirely.

v1.7.0 – 1.7.2

May 2026

Chat archive + streaming reliability

  • Archive any conversation without deleting it. New Active | Archived tabs in the sidebar.
  • 90-second read timeout on stalled streams + partial-response persistence for graceful recovery.
  • Empty-stream guard prevents the rare "blank bubble" outcome on flaky network.

v1.6.0 – 1.6.1

May 2026

Beautiful Word docs + auto-updater hardening

  • Word documents now use Cambria typography with proper headings, tables, callout boxes, and image embedding.
  • Auto-updater bug fixes: in-app updates now work reliably even after long sessions.
  • Onboarding captures your own display name so the assistant addresses you correctly.

v1.5.0

May 2026

Hybrid search + better recall

  • Search across all your past conversations using both keywords and semantic similarity.
  • New profile-update toasts surface when the assistant notices something new about how you work.
  • Agent now defaults to the name "HandleThat" — still customizable per user.

v1.4.0

April 2026

Bring Your Own Keys

  • Use your own Anthropic API key for unlimited usage, billed directly by Anthropic.
  • Usage banner shows your remaining tier limits at a glance.
  • BYOK is permanently free — no trial clock.

v1.3.0

April 2026

Token-based usage tracking

  • Replaced the old AI-messages metering with accurate token-based usage across all surfaces.
  • Per-service caps (chat, transcription, embeddings) instead of one blended cap.

v1.2.0 – 1.2.1

April 2026

Structured personal profile

  • The assistant now builds a timestamped, structured profile of you (me.md) with full version history.
  • Updates are reviewable in Settings; you can edit, remove, or undo any entry.
  • Conversation search now picks up titles + tokenized matches in addition to embeddings.

v1.0.0

April 2026

Public launch

  • Chat with 22 agent tools across web, local files, meetings, projects, and notes.
  • Real-time meeting transcription with Windows system-audio loopback.
  • Document output: markdown → .docx, .xlsx, .pdf, .rtf with proper formatting.
  • Watched-folder document indexing with semantic + keyword search.
  • Free on Windows; macOS planned.
